Positive Impact Prepares for Atlantic City's First Ever World Long Drive Golf Event

CRANBURY, NJ (May 30, 2018) – Positive Impact Sports and Entertainment is preparing for Atlantic City’s first-ever World Long Drive (WLD) golf event taking place this summer at the Atlantic City Country Club.

Positive Impact worked with their client, The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, and the Golf Channel to bring the World Long Drive competition to Atlantic City, NJ. Positive Impact’s Team will assist with event activation and onsite asset fulfillment for the two-day golf event.

The “Atlantic City Boardwalk Bash” will be held on June 4th and 5th, with a live broadcast being televised on the Golf Channel at 4:00 p.m. on the 5th. This will be the fourth WLD event of the season and the third to be televised on the Golf Channel. WLD has already toured Columbia, SC, Mesquite, NV, and Phoenix, AZ and is also scheduled to travel to Memphis, TN, Ontario, Canada, and Kingsport, TN.

The “Atlantic City Boardwalk Bash” will contain a field of 32 men competing in the Open Division based on World Long Drive rankings, and 16 women competing in the Women’s Division. The playing field will be narrowed down to eight men and four women based on results of the Qualifying rounds from each respective division. These remaining men and women will advance to the televised portion of the competition.

World Long Drive has emerged as one of golf’s most popular events. The competition lasts from late spring to mid-fall, building up to the championship where people from all over the world come to universal location to battle for the title.

The World Long Drive Association is an organization that brings together golf’s longest hitters from around the globe. Emerging as one of golf’s most popular grass roots competitions, sanctioned Long Drive events are open to amateur and professional golfers. With an Open Division, Women’s Division and Masters Division (Ages 45+), the sport appeals to golfers of all ages. The 2018 WLDA season consists of sanctioned events culminating with the Volvik World Long Drive Championship (Sept. 1-5) from WinStar World Casino & Resort (Thackerville, Okla.) where competitors will convene under the lights for the world title on Golf Channel.
